Ways to a Safer Healthier Home

Staying healthy is important to you and the entire family.  Follow the low-cost and easy steps below to stop many infectious diseases before they happen:
  • Wash Your Hands Often - Keeping your hands clean is one of the best ways to keep from getting sick and spreading diseases.  It gets rid of germs you pick up for other people, surfaces you touch and animals you come in contact with.  If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol wipe or hand gel.
  • Clean and Disinfect Surfaces Routinely - Cleaning and disinfecting are not the same thing.  Cleaning removes germs from surfaces, however, disinfecting actually destroys them.  After cleaning surfaces, don't let germs hang around on cleaning clothes.  Use paper towels, or use disposable sanitizing wipes.
  • Get Immunized - Getting immunized most importantly saves lives.  Make sure you and your children get the shots suggested by your health care provider at the proper time.  Keep immunization records for the whole family.  Adults need tetanus and diphtheria boosters every 10 years.  The best way to prevent the flu is to get vaccinated every fall season.
  • Be careful with pets - Children under 5 are more likely to get diseases from animals.  Young children should not be allowed to kiss pets or to put their hands and toys into their mouths after touching animals.  Wash your child's hands thoroughly after contact with animals, particularly when visiting farms, petting zoos and fairs.

Remember we are role models

Being a childcare provider means much more than babysitting:

  • We must practice being the best human beings that we can be,in order to set the best examples for children
  • Strive to be a guardian angel for a curious mind ready to experience the world (keeping them safe)
  • We must guide, assist and teach the children moral lessons, in addition to the activities and lessons set forth in the curriculums
Let's attempt to be a model for what we would like the children to emulate, helping the future to be a  better place one child at a time.

The Importance of Healthy Living

Help young children learn the importance of healthy eating and physical activity by teaching them about the following 4 points:

  • Food groups
  • Healthy Snacks
  • Drinking Water
  • Physical Activity
Just as you're never too old to learn, you can never be too young to start learning.

Lets Lighten Up Little Lives

We have equal breath to use, to scream in anger or laugh in joy at the crayon marks on the walls or spills on the floors.  Little eyes awaiting our response.  Join us(ourselves and the little ones) as we clean and laugh our way to a better mood by lightening up.  The revelations gotten from daily devotional readings are wonderful.
